kristin, i’ve definitely gotten a lot of comic influence from jeffrey brown. he was who i started looking at when i first realized i like comics. i really like independent comics but had never seen many before, i had only seen really marvel comic booky type comics. after i got into zines and started going into stores that sold zines, i was exposed to jeffrey brown and snakepit and everything changed! thats when i turned my zine into a comic zine. i had never looked much at independent or ’scratchy comics’ as i like to call them and was blown away by their simplicity.
